Alice Springs Chicken Recipe


Instructions

1. Prepare the Honey Mustard Sauce:

In a small bowl, mix together the Dijon mustard, honey, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. Set aside.

2. Season and Cook the Chicken:

Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder on both sides.

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes per side, until browned and nearly cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

3. Sauté the Mushrooms:

In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms (if using) and sauté for 2-3 minutes, until softened. Remove and set aside.

4. Assemble the Chicken:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Brush each chicken breast generously with the honey mustard sauce.

Top the chicken with the cooked mushrooms (optional), crumbled bacon, and shredded cheese.

5. Bake the Chicken:

Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F) and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Garnish and Serve:

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
