Chicken Alfredo Linguine Recipe
Instructions
1. Cook the Linguine:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Chicken:
While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, dried Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove from the skillet and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into strips.
3. Make the Alfredo Sauce:
In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring frequently. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the cream starts to thicken.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg if using.
4. Combine Pasta and Sauce:
Add the cooked linguine to the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
5. Serve:
Divide the creamy linguine between plates.
Top with sliced chicken breasts.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
Serve hot with extra Parmesan cheese on the side.
